Julie – A beautiful blood-sucker. He’s standing on the top of one of the new picnic tables in the reserve. It’s all very touristy now – not to my taste at all. I preferred it when it was more natural.
Joan Elizabeth – You bet! I was trying to photograph a King Parrot while Alan watched a March Fly on his trousers, not imagining for one moment that its proboscis could penetrate moleskin fabric. Well you know what happened next. Alan leapt to his feet, screaming blue murder and the parrot flew away. :)
Reminds me of a Christmas dinner picnic we were having in the Snowies. I was being bitten alive by the things. Put on socks and they bit through them. Hubby could not understand what I was fussing about until one (just one!) bit him and lunch was packed up in an instant.
He would not set up a picnic lunch anywhere that trip without first checking whether there were March flies.
Fly away, fly, and come back another day -:)
ReplyDeleteGreat shots!
