Winter bush picnic

Ahhhh! Once more into the bush for a relaxing picnic. Winter is a great time to have a picnic as nobody else is silly enough, so we have the place to ourselves - and the wildlife.  A warming tomato soup, olive and sun-dried tomato muffins and an indulgent apple, pear and kiwifruit pie was on the menu today. Tea from the Eco Billy (See Tea for Two http://eucalypthabitat.blogspot.com.au/2013/04/tea-for-two.html) - nice and smoky flavoured - finished off a pleasant nosh.

    1. Hi Cherri. We love the smoky flavour the tea gets when the water is boiled over a fire. Shades of lapsang souchong.

  2. Oh yum, now that's doing the bush picnic proud. What a delicious selection of home made goodies.
The two of you look so snuggly and cute in your beanies too :D)

    1. Thanks Susan. Beanies are needed this year with the cold. You could send some of that rain your having our way though.

  3. Looks really good. My wife and I like to take our travel trailer (I think you guys call them caravans) on camping trips in the winter. We generally have the campgrounds all to ourselves.

    1. I am glad not many people do like winter outings. Allows us to be at one with nature. A caravan is on our wish list, one that is robust enough to get off the beaten track.
