    Cherri the purple is only visable when flying (the mantis that is not me)

    Thanks for the beaut pics Alan. You've certain captured marvellous detail of these lovely creatures.
    One had landed on our wire door yesterday and I carried it to the nearest tree. Couldn't be bothered picking up the camera (am photographed-out at the moment), so was glad to see the great effort you made :D)

    Thanks Joan Elizabeth and Susan. They sit so still one doesn’t normally notice them, but this one was on a plant right at the door so I saw it as I went out. As I photographed it from every angle to get the best shots its head turned and looked directly into the lens.
