Photo courtesy of Lyn Hardwood, owner of Riverbed Cottage. If you're looking for a relaxing holiday close to nature, you can't go past this place. Alan and I love it, and if it were closer to home we'd be there every second weekend . All our Gipsy Point photos were taken while staying there.

A small fish, right?
ReplyDeleteGlorious image.
How beautiful is that. I keep hoping to catch a kingfisher one day. The best I've done so far is a tiny spec far in the distance through a big lens.
ReplyDeleteKingfishers are hard to capture - what a beautiful bird?
ReplyDeleteGorgeous colour. Just had another look at your Gipsy Point photos - wonderful birdlife.
ReplyDeleteVicki, exactly how big is this little cutie? What amazing colors!!

@Julie: Correct. Kingfishers aren't called kingfishers for nothing. :)
ReplyDelete@Joan Elizabeth @Dianne: I haven't even managed the tiny spec in the distance. (Thanks again to Lyn Harwood for the photo.)
@Susan: Surrounded by the Croajingolong National Park and the waterways, Gipsy Point is a wildlife paradise. We love it.
@Cherri: The Azure Kingfisher is a small kingfisher. Lots of info here about them.
Enjoyed your beautiful bird photos. The alley photos make an interesting contrast.
