Have never seen this type of Finch before, gosh they're pretty. Can imagine their sweet little "chirrups". Superb shots Vicki - really makes one smile :D)
I'm surprised you don't have Red-browed Finches in your neck of the woods -- we have them at home (not all year) and they were at Gipsy Point, so I just assumed they were widespread. I should never assume!
I think I can sometimes hear Finches, but haven't actually seen them. Had a chuckle at Cherri's comment - if they were nectar feeding birds, we could liken them applying their lippie after perhaps a wee bit too much juice ;D)

LOL And missing their lips and hitting their eyebrows instead? ;)
DeleteOur finches don't look anything like your finches. Those cute little gals like the lipstick and got a little carried away! hahaha. xx
ReplyDeleteI don't think the photos do the "lipstick" justice. It's a stunning red -- wouldn't mind some of that lipstick myself. ;)
DeleteSuch lovely little birds. I have never seen them in large numbers like this.
ReplyDeleteWe get flocks (up to 50 birds) of them from time to time, usually late winter through to early spring. Thanks for dropping by, Joan.
