    Woah! She is a ripper!

    Do you have a hide, or a tripod always set up?

    I love chicken wire nearly as much as corrugated iron.

    I tried to get a Rufous Fantail up at O'Reillys over NYs, but he was too dappled and too far up the track and flighty. Read that as I was not good enough ...

    Just gorgeous. You seem to have a few around your garden, I remember seeing other photos with them at your water bowl some time ago.
    They're very rarely seen in ours ... so a real treat to view yours :D

    @Julie: We don't have a hide or a tripod permanently set up. As flitty as fantails are, they are such inquistive birds. It kept coming back to see what I was doing -- I took umpteen pics, with these two being the best.

    @Susan: Fantails are one of my favourite birds. No fear and they have such a cute peep-peep call. We do have a few that call our place home. These photos were taken in the vege garden.

    I agree re fantails being inquisitive. The Willy Wagtail certainly is.

    Re my shots from the Symphony + Shakespeare. The shots you think are cropped, aren't. All the closeups are uncropped. I like taking that sort of shot to set an atmosphere. However, the long shots ARE cropped.

    The Kathy Reich novel was being read by the woman in front of me. I am currently reading a book of short stories, 'Yesterday's Weather', by Ann Enright.

    Birds with fantails simply delight me ... it's the way the tail swings about in that chirpy way. I am so hoping to get to spend some time out at Clandulla soon to see what I can do with bird pics.
